This book is about the reality of the human political condition.

I ask the reader questions, such as:

• Why do we create governments to rule over us, then allow them to get out of control?
• Why do we allow our leaders to wage war with our tax dollars when we prefer peace?
• Why do we often end up being governed by the worst among us?

I am reminded of the following quote from the great social critic, Henry Louis Mencken, who famously said: “Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.”

There are two types of reality: official and actual. This is a book about actual reality and since reality is "real", it tends to be messy. I promise to do my best to sort things out for you.

I confess that some of my writing may border on the sardonic and irreverent. I’ve done my best to tone things down. But it’s not easy when you’re creeping up on 80 years of age and seen as much engineered destruction of your culture as I have. ‘Kinda’ gets you a little cranky sometimes. Can you relate?

I promise to hold back to the best of my ability. If I say anything that upsets or offends you, please accept my sincerest apologies.

But I may do it again.
